Kelco Transportation Services, Inc. was incorporated in 1985 and has run as a very successful brokerage and management company. I have seen the company grow from double digit employees to the two offices we have at the present time. We have brokered loads for some major companies and now for just a few. Kelco has always been a company that I felt could be a management company working with small operators with one or two units on the road. I am still doing a little brokerage from the two offices, but the majority of our time is now spent managing a fleet of trucks running for the "Pilot Program" of JB Hunt Transport. A little over a year ago JB Hunt approached me, like they have approached most of you, about running their trailers and getting paid by the mile or percentage. I had one truck at the time and I told them I was not interested in the plan. They then introduced me to the new program that has changed the face of Kelco Transportation. They introduced me to the "Pilot Program" and they gave me the last position on the small board they had available. I was able to see the loads I wanted for my truck and pick where he was going to go. I liked the plan so much I inquired if I could bring on other trucks to run under my company management. They told me absolutely and here we are with nine owner operators running for us on the "Pilot Program". I am now expanding the services we offer here at the management company and are excited to make it available to all.
